Last week, I took some photos during the recording of a documentary series called Asking for Sex by Elese Moran. In this series, Elese opens up intriguing conversations about sexual consent men on dating apps (Bumble) in San Francisco. She interviews them in her studio apartment, creating an intimate setting for dialogue.
This project is pretty awesome, because I think it brings a new and necessary perspective into the narrative of sexual consent. We normally hear this narrative as told by the victim of lack of consent. However, Elese’s novel approach of investigating the man’s perspective brings a different awareness and helps us come full circle with a more complete understanding of consent.
